The M81 shares the M80's condenser-like response and TELEFUNKEN T80 transformer, but is voiced with a low-mass diaphragm designed to reduce proximity effect and add a wealth of body to brighter sources. It is a go-to choice for taming harsh vocals and guitar tones, and for fattening up toms, horns and other thinner-sounding instruments.

Hand-assembled in the USA, the M81 is available in a range of colors and premium metal or wood finishes, and ships with a zipper bag and M780 mic clip. Related low-profile (M81-SH) and wireless-capsule (M81-WH, M81-WH2) versions are available as separate listings.
