Product Description

The Palmer ORBIT 11 is an active coaxial 3-way studio monitor built for mixing, mastering, post-production, sound design, broadcast and content creation. Its coaxial True Point Source design places a 6.5" midrange driver and a 1" tweeter on a shared acoustic axis, giving the ORBIT 11 a consistent 120° x 120° dispersion pattern for stable imaging and reliable tonal balance across the listening area.

A cardioid front baffle controls the monitor's rear radiation, reducing the amount of energy that reflects off walls and other room boundaries behind the speaker. Combined with the even, well-controlled dispersion of the coaxial driver array, this keeps the direct sound dominant at the listening position and makes the ORBIT 11 more forgiving in acoustically untreated or difficult rooms.

Low frequencies are handled by dual impulse-compensated 8" woofers mounted in a sealed die-cast aluminium enclosure with wall thickness between 5 and 16 mm. The rigid cabinet resists mechanical flexing and minimises unwanted resonance, allowing the ORBIT 11 to reach down to 28 Hz with tight, well-controlled bass rather than the boomy low end typical of thinner enclosures.

Inside, a 96 kHz / 24-bit signal path with FIR filtering keeps every driver in phase and time-aligned, so transients stay coherent across the crossover points. The top panel gives quick access to an input pad, a 3-band EQ, desktop and wall-mount voicing presets, and an 80 Hz high-pass filter, so the monitor can be tuned to its position without digging through menus. Connectivity covers a balanced XLR line input and AES3 in via XLR, plus an AES3 thru output for daisy-chaining multiple units.

Threaded mounting points and an M8 eyebolt make the ORBIT 11 easy to fly or mount securely to a wall or ceiling, and it's compatible with the tilt-and-swivel Gravity SP WMBS 20 B bracket for flexible placement in control rooms, edit suites and broadcast setups.

The result of precision acoustic engineering and German manufacturing, the ORBIT 11 pairs time-coherent reproduction with extended low-end reach for monitoring you can trust - available in black or white.
