Mastering-Grade Conversion, Two Analog Flavors
The BAD4M is the result of over 25 years of R&D experience in pro audio digital and analog design. Following the success of the B2 Bomber ADC and the BAD8, it uses the same BX1 transformer-coupled circuit path as the BAD8 with no op-amps, or a transformerless analog front end using the BURL NextGen BOPA14 discrete op-amp - selectable per channel.
The BOPA14 front end is the result of hundreds of hours of listening tests: an all-discrete, class-A op-amp with a minimal number of transistors, delivering tighter bass and higher definition throughout the audio spectrum. Add a switchable ADC filter and Avid delay matching, and the BAD4M is equally suited to a pure, faithful capture of an already-warm mix bus or to imparting the classic BURL analog character.
