AudioScape's newest addition to the AudioScape lineup, THE ‘CLASSIC DI’ BOX featuring an industry first, the LOAD CONTROL™, Point-to-Point wiring throughout, NOS Allen-Bradley Carbon Comp Resistors, and a Custom OPTO COMP Transformer (to name only a few amongst its impressive feature-set). The ‘CLASSIC DI’ Box features AudioScape's curiously unique and awesomely variable LOAD CONTROL™ and a handy ATTENUATION CONTROL.
To top it all off, the ‘CLASSIC DI’ Box is a COMPLETELY Passive, Custom Transformer design and requires no power to operate.
THE LOAD CONTROL™
AudioScape is the first company to include a unique LOAD CONTROL™ circuit to a DI BOX (to the best of their knowledge, haha!). The LOAD CONTROL™ affects frequency response, changes apparent headroom, adds slight saturation, and a tasteful dose of non-linear audio bacon to any source ran through its meticulously hand-wired custom circuit.
The CLASSIC DI is fitted with twists inside and out - on the rear you will find an XLR MIC INPUT which allows you to experiment with different dynamic and/or ribbon microphones and their inherited tonal properties by changing the amount of “loading” on the transformer via their unique LOAD CONTROL™ circuitry!
Endless Creative Coloration Options when Tracking with Dynamic or Ribbon Microphones
Easily run dynamic/ribbon microphones through it, send line-level sources through it for some sweet dosing of REAL IRON - OR! plug a guitar, bass, drum machine, or synth into it and capture a vividly beautiful DI sound - with some extra “vibe” on the side that can be dialed in to taste…! The unique “LOAD CONTROL” - effectively changes the “load” that the custom iron is undertaking. Lower settings can get a bit darker, while higher settings yield a subtly more aggressive tonal shift, with the lower and upper mids being most affected - how cool is that!?
