Introducing EuroBuss: A EuroRack VCA Compressor Module
The EuroBuss Eurorack Stereo Compressor module is AudioScape's celebrated Buss Comp SSL-style VCA compressor built into an 18HP Eurorack module. It features exclusive functionality necessary for use in a modular synthesizer setup. The EuroBuss has all of the same features and controls as the 19” Buss Comp, including stereo I/O and left/ right side-chain access, plus a threshold CV input.
Just like the Buss Comp, THAT Corp VCAs sit at the heart of the AudioScape EuroBuss*.* Also, by employing a true stereo sidechain design (just like the original), the EuroBuss is capable of creating some great effects when used with an LFO, or strapped across percussive patches.
While AudioScape usually prefers a pure approach to their legacy recreations, and try to keep them as true to the originals as possible, they have incorporated a switchable 160 Hz high-pass filter into the side-chain of the EuroBuss. Simply put, this additional feature allows low-end dominant material to pass through the compressor without triggering compression, while everything above 160 Hz is compressed as usual. Sub-heavy kick drum patches, growling basslines and massive pads, etc. retain their aggressiveness and punch without sacrificing the overall clarity of your mix.

The EuroBuss VCA buss compressor has arrived!
Update: There have been a few questions about whether this unit has the “Turbo Mod” as it's known in the DIY world. The Turbo Mod uses an external sidechain board to make a GSSL (and others) “true stereo”. The BUSS COMPRESSOR already has what would be considered the “Turbo Mod”; inherently integrated. AudioScape's exclusive, custom circuit board completely and accurately recreates the original console compressor and as such, no mods or “add-ons” are necessary. As a result of faithfully reproducing the original’s circuit, they don’t have to fuss with extra mod boards, wires, etc. which can sometimes subtly degrade sonics, performance and reliability.
